I look at last-update dates before I buy. Magento Price Drop Alert is clearly looked after. Combined with usable docs, that is why it beat a cheaper abandoned add-on.

I tested Price Drop Alert on a staging copy first, then on production with real products. No surprises. A few labels I would word differently, but the behaviour is correct and that is what we paid for.
